# Favorites, PiP & Recordings

> How these cross-client Live TV features work together

These three features behave the same way underneath across every client, even though the controls to trigger them differ per app (see each platform's page for the exact button/gesture).

## Favorites

Favoriting a channel is per-user. Once a user has favorited at least one channel, a **Favorites** category tab appears first in both the Guide and Channels screens for that user, on every client they sign into.

| Client | How to favorite |
| - | - |
| Roku | **Options (\*)** while the Guide is open |
| Android TV / Fire TV / Apple TV / iOS / Android | Long-press a channel or program |
| Web | Not available yet |

## Picture-in-picture (PiP) channels

A PiP channel is a single tunable channel backed by more than one audio source, typically used for alternate commentary or language tracks on the same video feed. An admin creates these from **Settings > Live TV > PiP Channels**; end users just tune to the channel normally and switch audio sources:

| Client | How to switch audio |
| - | - |
| Roku | Double-press **Down** while watching |
| Android TV / Fire TV / Apple TV / iOS / Android | Audio-track button in the player overlay |
| Web | **Audio track** button in the player |

## Recordings

Scheduling a recording starts from a program in the Guide:

| Client | How to schedule |
| - | - |
| Roku | **Options (\*)** on an upcoming program in the Guide |
| Android TV / Fire TV / Apple TV / iOS / Android | Long-press an upcoming program in the Guide |
| Web | Not available yet |

Once scheduled, all clients show the recording in **Recordings** with its status (scheduled, completed, or failed), and let you play, delete, or retry it from there.
