Remote Transcoding

Offload transcode jobs to one or more separate transcoder nodes on your network instead of running them on the main server.

  • AI model recommendations: personalized suggestions for what to watch next.
  • AI-generated metadata: an AI model produces metadata directly, reducing how much Kernel relies on TMDB, Radarr, and Sonarr.
Both features run on Marquee AI, Kernel’s own model, by default. You’ll also be able to hook into existing frontier models via API instead, if you’d rather bring your own.

Unlocking Pro features

From the admin user menu, Link with Kernel connects your server to a kernelmedia.tv account. If that account has an active Pro or Lifetime license, the features above unlock automatically; no separate build or reinstall is needed. See Linking a Kernel account.
